Under the Desk GAME
Corporate Chaos Meets Adult Storytelling
Just wrapped up a few hours with Under the Desk and honestly, it’s way more satirical than I expected from an +18 visual novel. You’re this regular IT guy who gets thrust into the absolute chaos of corporate politics at a game development studio, and the whole premise is surprisingly self-aware. The writing doesn’t take itself too seriously, which works perfectly for a story about climbing the corporate ladder through, well, unconventional means.
What caught me off guard was how much actual corporate intrigue there is beyond the adult content. The power struggles feel genuinely messy and complicated, like someone who’s actually worked in a dysfunctional office wrote this. Though I’ll be honest, some story beats feel a bit erratic and rushed — hopefully future updates smooth out those pacing issues.
The Satirical Side of Office Life
The game definitely leans into the absurdity of its premise. An IT guy getting promoted instead of blamed for everything? Yeah, it’s unrealistic, but that’s clearly the point. The developers use AI for backgrounds and certain scenes while keeping character designs hand-drawn, which creates an interesting visual mix that mostly works.
Playing the unlocked version saved me from any potential grinding, letting me focus on the branching storylines and character interactions. Fair warning though — this is definitely not subtle about its adult themes.
