End of Winter GAME
End of Winter grabbed me the second I read the premise — the Tower of Winter falls, you expect a happy ending, and then a zombie apocalypse immediately kicks in across the continent. Classic dark fantasy gut punch. It’s a text-based roguelike RPG from Tailormade Games, the same crew behind Tower of Winter and Phantom City, so if you’ve played those, you already know this isn’t going to hold your hand.
Building Your Deck Feels Like Crafting a Survival Philosophy
The starting card system is where this game gets its hooks in you. You’re not just picking stats — you’re literally deciding how your character survives the undead migration, and every run can play out completely differently depending on how you build. First time I stumbled into a combo that actually worked, I sat there for a second like “wait, did I just figure this out?” That feeling is rare. The world itself feels massive compared to its predecessors, and the environment punishes bad decisions fast.
Honest complaint though — the text-heavy format can feel overwhelming early on. There’s a lot to parse before you hit your rhythm, and new players might bounce before it clicks.
I played the unlocked version so resource walls weren’t interrupting the story momentum, which honestly kept the dark tone intact. If the lore question “what will you be remembered for?” actually makes you think, this one deserves your time.
