Clockwork Hearts hits different than most visual novels. You play as a guy dealing with grief who gets this weird pocket watch that breaks time into loops. Instead of the usual dating sim stuff, you’re watching three women relive their absolute worst moments over and over.

The time loop concept actually works here because it ties into the whole grief theme. Each woman is stuck in her own personal hell, and you have to pick one to focus on and help break free. The writing doesn’t pull punches when it comes to heavy topics like loss and trauma.

Fair warning though, this one gets dark fast. It’s more about emotional healing than romance, even with the adult content. If you want something that actually explores what it means to let go of pain, this delivers.
