Nyby – Not Your Best Year is a visual novel that throws you into a pretty messy school situation right from the start. You’re playing as a student who thinks he’s got everything figured out with his girlfriend and sister by his side, but things go downhill fast.

The story gets dark pretty quickly with betrayal and cheating becoming major themes. Your closest relationships get tested when other characters start making moves on the people you care about. The whole “will they resist or give in” tension drives most of the plot forward.

It’s only the first chapter so far, but the setup is solid if you’re into drama-heavy visual novels. The writing doesn’t pull punches when it comes to showing how toxic situations can spiral out of control.
