Most visual novels ease you into their supernatural politics, but Game of Hearts literally starts with an assassin trying to kill you before a mysterious father figure saves your life and reveals you’re now part of some demonic power struggle. The whole opening feels like getting thrown into the deep end of a conspiracy thriller where everyone knows the rules except you.
