Clown Squad hits different than your typical visual novel. This isn’t some feel-good story about making people laugh. You’re stuck playing a performer who literally cannot lie in a world built on bullshit, and everyone hates you for telling the truth.
The setup is brutal but fascinating. You’re supposed to be funny, but comedy requires bending reality, and your character physically can’t do it. People treat you like garbage even though you work harder than everyone else. The writing gets dark fast, exploring what happens when society demands you be something you can’t be.
It’s just a prologue right now, but the premise has serious potential. The choice system promises you can either break under the pressure or fight back against the whole twisted system. Worth checking out if you want something that actually makes you think.
