Checkpoint GAME
Checkpoint is an early sandbox game that’s still finding its footing but shows some promise. You get dropped into a small world with the town of Oxdale and a forest area to poke around in. The whole thing runs in your browser which is pretty convenient.
The combat uses turn-based mechanics and there’s a basic loot system to mess with. You can customize NPCs and craft transformation items at a garage, which gives the game a weird experimental vibe. The content is pretty limited right now since it’s just a demo, but the customization options are surprisingly detailed.
Don’t expect a polished experience yet. This feels more like a proof of concept that the developer is testing out different mechanics with. If you’re into sandbox games where you can mess around with character customization, might be worth checking out to see where it goes.
